Elizabeth Helms

Attorney Elizabeth Helms has extensive experience in general civil litigation with concentrations in employment, construction defect/litigation, real estate, business, bankruptcy, debt negotiation, and insurance related matters. Previously a licensed property and casualty insurance broker, Ms. Helms has a thorough understanding of risk management and the insurance business.

Ms. Helms has been practicing law in state and federal court since being admitted to the California bar in 2008. She attended McGeorge School of Law where she was the recipient of several awards including the Dean’s scholarship and the Witkin Award for academic excellence in International Advocacy.

As a successful litigator, Ms. Helms has regularly gained favorable outcomes for her clients. Some of her favorable resolutions include:

• Obtained a six-figure settlement on behalf of a real estate investor;
• Received a favorable outcome on a motion for summary judgment on behalf of several
  real estate investors;
• Obtained the full amount sought on a breach of contract case;
• Negotiated the dismissal of a real estate agent from a lengthy and expensive lawsuit;
• Obtained a settlement to her clients’ satisfaction in a lengthy neighbor dispute; and
• Negotiated successful settlements with creditors, including lenders.

Ms. Helms enjoys traveling, especially to other countries. She and her husband Jim are eagerly planning a “bucket list” trip to Europe to participate in a guided tour of WWII battle sites. In the meantime, she loves to talk about the 13+ countries she has visited thus far, especially Israel, China and her day spent in North Korea.
